What is a Parishioner?
Parishioners are registered members who either live within the Parish boundaries or have registered based on their regular attendance at Sunday Mass and regular participation in the life of the Parish. They choose to make St. Dominic's their primary spiritual home. Parishioners have privilege to the full sacramental ministry of the Parish, including funeral or memorial services, inurnment at The Columbarium (after being registered at least one year), Marriage at St. Dominic's (after one year), or having their children receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation). They are remembered in the daily prayers for the people (pro populo) and the benefactors of the church. They are included in all spiritual and educational events at the Parish. They have the opportunity to participate in leadership positions and many ministry opportunities. They support the church financially, help St. Dominic's meet it's commitments to the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal; and often choose to use e-Offering to make financial gifts online.
What is an Associate Member?
Many people come to St. Dominic's on a regular basis or join us by live stream from afar. They come to St. Dominic's with their families at Christmas, Palm Sunday and Easter for example, and occasionally to a favorite Mass. More often than not, they also participate in their own local parish, but would like to be associated with the St. Dominic's community. Thus we have an Associate Member status with certain rights. Associate Members have the right to funeral or memorial services at St. Dominic's, and, with the written permission of their own pastor, to be married or to have their children baptized here. They are remembered in the daily prayers for our benefactors. They are invited to receive our e-newsletter to keep informed and to participate in our ministries and Parish events. Importantly, Associates frequently commit some level of ongoing financial support to St. Dominic's.
